A Crown Jewel of Dutch Pop History
In the 1970s and 1980s, Solution evolved into one of the crown jewels of Dutch pop music. Originally formed in the late ’60s as “Soulution,” the band had roots in free-form progressive rock and jazz before growing into a group that delivered perfectly produced work, both vocally and instrumentally. Altogether, Solution released six studio albums on EMI Records, Elton John’s Rocket Label, and CBS Records, collaborating with major figures like producer Gus Dudgeon and drummer/singer Jim Capaldi (Traffic). In 2006, they staged a memorable reunion with two performances at Club Panama in Amsterdam, which were recorded and released on DVD.
The Ultimate Collector’s Box
Last Detail contains the entire, remastered discography of Solution from 1969 to 2006: 18 CDs and 1 DVD, enriched with rare outtakes and unique live recordings that have never been released before. It also comes with a luxurious, 276-page hardcover book put together by biographer and archivist Wouter Bessels. Filled with a treasure trove of photos (both color and black-and-white), posters, articles, cover designs, and personal materials from the band members’ archives, the book is meticulously researched, documented, and spectacularly designed.
