NL Hip Hop Legends: Presented by the Dutch Hip Hop Archive
As a warm-up for the upcoming event, visitors were treated to a stunning display of 12-foot album covers representing iconic moments in Dutch hip hop history. The Dutch Hip Hop Archive, home to over 1,500 vinyl releases from the Netherlands, is the most complete collection of its kind, featuring rare test presses, promos, and private pressings. This archive has grown over 30 years and continues to celebrate the rich legacy of hip hop in the Netherlands.
To make this edition extra special, Dutch Gems, the record label closely linked to the archive, offered a series of exclusive releases. These included three private press records, each limited to just 25 copies, produced by The Hague’s own DJ MistaSweet. There was also a brand-new official vinyl release – No. 7 in the ’Legacy’ series – featuring rare English-language work from Brainpower, and a live showcase featuring DJ MistaSweet alongside rappers from the limited-edition releases.
For a deeper dive into the world of Dutch hip hop, don’t miss the next opportunity to catch a preview of the Dutch Hip Hop Archive, where the mission is to collect and preserve every single Dutch hip hop vinyl release.
