Feel the Ska Fever! Experience Jamaican Beats at the 60th Mega Record & CD Fair
Get ready to dance to the driving rhythms of Ska! On April 12 and 13, 2025, the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch will be all about Jamaican music, with the Ska Fever Exhibition—curated by Aad Brakus—taking center stage.
From Kingston to the Rest of the World
Ska emerged in Jamaica right after its independence in 1962 and quickly conquered the globe. Its energetic beat led to several revival waves, starting in late ‘70s England with bands like Madness, Bad Manners, The Selecter, The Specials, and The Beat. An international breakthrough soon followed, featuring acts such as Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra (Japan), Mr. Review (the Netherlands), and The Toasters (USA).
Rare Collectibles & Exclusive Releases
During this special weekend, you can check out 100 rare Ska LP covers from the 1960s—sourced from Jamaica and beyond. You can also be among the first to get your hands on the “Watermelon Man Ska” LP, a limited-edition release from the renowned Jamaican Gold label. This exclusive 180-gram LP contains 14 tracks from 1961–1965 that have never before appeared on vinyl. It comes in a gatefold sleeve with a four-page color insert packed with background info and unique photos.

Aggroshop from Nijmegen will be located next to the Ska Fever Expo, offering “Watermelon Man Ska” with a special 15% Record Planet weekend discount. They’ll also have a small stock of rare and long-unavailable Ska LPs from the Dr. Buster Dynamite label.
