There is a particular satisfaction in bringing home a record before its official release. At the 63rd Mega Record & CD Fair, Ben Caplan’s new 2 Meter Sessions album offers exactly that opportunity.

The album gathers twelve performances from four sessions recorded in 2012, 2013, 2018 and 2023. Across more than a decade, Caplan appears in intimate settings and with a full band. Contributions from the Amsterdam Klezmer Band add another musical setting to the collection.

Belly of the Worm, Southbound, Beautiful and What Love Can Heartbreak Allow are among the songs, alongside Caplan’s interpretations of What a Wonderful World and Tú Sí Sabes Quererme. His voice provides the connection between recordings made years apart, while the changing arrangements give each performance its own character.

A session collection lets you follow an artist through individual encounters with a studio. The instrumentation changes, the performances belong to different moments, and details that might pass unnoticed in isolation become easier to hear together. This record leaves room to listen for those shifts across the years.

Find the pre-release at the Charly Record Store in the Hall 7 Music Zone, alongside the wider 2 Meter Sessions vinyl selection. Visit the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch on 14 and 15 November 2026, make space in your record bag and give this one an early place on your turntable.
