A record can tell you a great deal about a band. Hearing its musicians speak adds something else. At this edition of Record Planet, The Scene connects a live appearance in Hall 7 with studio performances preserved on vinyl.

Songs such as Blauw, Open and Iedereen Is Van De Wereld helped give The Scene a lasting place in Dutch-language rock. For many listeners in the Netherlands and Flanders, they carry years of personal associations. Visitors discovering the band from abroad have a substantial repertoire to explore.

In the Music Zone, The Scene joins Jan Douwe Kroeske for a conversation followed by a short live performance. A record signing follows, allowing fans to meet the musicians as part of their day at the fair.

The LP Live on 2 Meter Sessions offers another perspective. Its ten recordings were made between 1990 and 1999, with Thé Lau on vocals. Alongside familiar songs, the selection includes Rigoreus, Brand and Romantiek. Together, they capture performances from different points in a decade of the band’s history.

That makes the album a useful companion to the stage appearance: a chance to return to individual performances and listen beyond the songs you already know best. Find the LP at the Charly Record Store beside the Music Zone. The 63rd Mega Record & CD Fair takes place on 14 and 15 November 2026 at the Brabanthallen in Den Bosc
